UAE shoots down 17 ballistic missiles, 35 UAVs in latest Iranian attack
Authorities confirm minor injuries and no new fatalities reported
ABU DHABI – The UAE’s Ministry of Defence confirmed that air defence systems successfully intercepted 17 ballistic missiles and 35 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on Wednesday.
The projectiles were launched from Iran as part of continued cross-border attacks targeting the country. Officials stated that the situation was managed swiftly, with defence units responding to all incoming threats.
The latest developments come amid an ongoing series of aerial assaults, prompting heightened vigilance across the UAE. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely while maintaining operational readiness.
Since the onset of the attacks, UAE air defences have intercepted a total of 537 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles, and 2,256 UAVs. The figures highlight the scale and persistence of the aerial threats faced in recent weeks.

Military officials reiterated that all necessary measures are being taken to safeguard national security and protect residents.
The Ministry reported that three individuals sustained minor injuries in the latest incident, raising the total number of injuries to 224. Those affected include individuals from multiple nationalities. No fatalities were reported in today’s attacks, according to officials.
Since the beginning of the attacks, the total number of martyrs has reached two, in addition to a Moroccan civilian contracted with the Armed Forces. Civilian fatalities stand at 10, with victims from Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, Indian and Egyptian communities.
