DUBAI: Anantara Zanzibar Resort & Residences, the ultra-luxury destination set to open in 2027, has announced an exclusive partnership with globally acclaimed Japanese restaurant brand Sumosan.
Known for its contemporary flair and fine Japanese cuisine, Sumosan will launch its first East African location at the oceanfront resort, adding a new dimension to Zanzibar’s emerging luxury dining scene.
With successful restaurants in London, Courchevel, Berlin, and Bahrain, Sumosan has cultivated a loyal following among celebrities and global tastemakers. The Zanzibar venture marks a strategic milestone for the brand, expanding its culinary footprint into Africa.
Coastal fine dining
The flagship restaurant at Anantara Zanzibar will offer a signature à la carte menu in a modern, design-led setting. Guests and residents can expect an immersive culinary journey, with menu highlights including premium sushi, expertly crafted sashimi, and inventive Japanese dishes prepared with artistic flair.
