Mleiha National Park shortlisted to represent UAE at World Travel Awards 2026
Public voting remains open until July 31
SHARJAH – The Mleiha National Park has been shortlisted for the Middle East's Leading National Park 2026 title at the 33rd World Travel Awards, placing Sharjah's flagship heritage and ecotourism destination among the region's top protected landscapes.
The nomination makes the park the UAE's only representative in the category. It also highlights the country's growing recognition for preserving its natural and archaeological treasures while promoting sustainable tourism.
Located within the core area of the Al Faya Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mleiha National Park is competing against just four other national parks from across the Middle East. The nomination reflects the park's continued efforts to protect the UAE's archaeological heritage while offering visitors a blend of ecotourism, education and outdoor adventure experiences.
Voting opens
The World Travel Awards are regarded as one of the travel, tourism and hospitality industry's most prestigious global honours, recognising excellence in destination management and tourism development.
The latest nomination further strengthens Mleiha National Park's standing as an internationally recognised destination that brings together heritage conservation, environmental protection and educational experiences within one of the Arabian Peninsula's most significant archaeological landscapes.
