Dubai now offers free Wi-Fi at all 43 public bus and marine stations
Continuous evaluation planned for future network improvements
DUBAI: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with e&, has completed the rollout of free Wi-Fi service across 43 key public transport hubs in the emirate.
The service is now available at 21 public bus stations and 22 marine transport stations, offering seamless internet access to commuters.
Passengers can now stay connected via their smartphones, tablets, and laptops while travelling, making daily commutes more productive and engaging. The move aims to improve convenience for all public transport users and is aligned with Dubai’s strategy to promote smart mobility and digital inclusion.
Smart city vision
The initiative forms part of RTA’s broader efforts to accelerate digital transformation across all its services. By introducing complimentary internet at major transit points, the authority seeks to cater to the needs of various segments of society, in line with the UAE’s vision for a digitally connected future.
It also supports Dubai’s ongoing mission to establish itself as the world’s smartest and happiest city, delivering enhanced experiences across every facet of urban life—including public transportation.
Quality and expansion
The newly deployed Wi-Fi service will be subject to regular evaluation to ensure top-tier performance and user satisfaction. RTA and e& are jointly working to assess the service’s performance and explore opportunities for future upgrades and wider implementation.
