Ras Al Khaimah and Miami forge strategic partnership with new MoU
Agreement covers city planning, security, tourism, and innovation
DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, today witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ras Al Khaimah and the city of Miami, Florida.
The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation and exchange across a broad range of sectors of mutual interest.
It was signed by Senior Advisor to His Highness Sheikh Saud, Mohammed Hassan Omran Alshamsi, and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez.

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi said: “This agreement marks the beginning of a new era of collaboration for Ras Al Khaimah and Miami, though it is a continuation of the long-standing friendship and strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates and the United States. By encouraging greater collaboration and exchange, we open new pathways for innovation, investment and cultural dialogue. We look forward to building a dynamic partnership that reflects our shared values and ambitious visions for the future.”
The MoU covers cooperation in city planning and public security, business promotion, tourism, Smart City technology, innovation and start-ups, and sustainable development aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Economic and trade focus
The meeting also included discussions to enhance economic, trade, and investment ties. His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi highlighted the presence of numerous US companies in Ras Al Khaimah, including Hilton, Guardian Glass, and Caresoft Global. The Emirate’s diverse and vibrant economic landscape was emphasised as a fertile ground for investment and business growth.
Mayor Francis Suarez expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and praised the robust relations between the UAE and the US. He described the agreement as the opening of an exciting new chapter in the relationship between Ras Al Khaimah and one of America’s most prominent cities.
