Emirates caps off Dubai Airshow with Dh153.4 billion orders and bold innovations

UAE airline wins also top aviation awards for world-class service and cabin excellence

DUBAIEmirates marked a landmark presence at Dubai Airshow 2025 by unveiling comprehensive plans to expand its fleet, elevate passenger experience, and cement Dubai’s position as an emerging aerospace powerhouse.

Its largest-ever display of Airbus A380, A350 and Boeing 777 aircraft attracted more than 82,000 visitors, with over 15,000 testing its new Starlink-powered high-speed Wi-Fi on board the Emirates Boeing 777.

The Dubai-based airline demonstrated confidence in sustained global growth through strategic investments, digital advancements and next-generation partnerships.

Major announcements

The airline confirmed orders worth US$41.4 billion (Dh153.4 billion), comprising 65 Boeing 777-9s and 8 Airbus A350-900s, raising its total wide-body orderbook to 375 aircraft with scheduled deliveries through 2038.

Emirates also previewed future cabin concepts and announced that 111 existing aircraft would be upgraded with advanced interior designs and immersive entertainment technologies.

In addition, Starlink will be installed on 232 Emirates aircraft within the next two years, bringing high-speed connectivity to its global network.

How is expansion powered?

Emirates deepened aviation relationships through enhanced codeshare and loyalty partnerships. A reciprocal extension with Air Canada will now run until December 2032, alongside deeper cooperation in several areas.

The airline also confirmed a strengthened reciprocal codeshare with South African Airways and highlighted the continued success of its partnership with flydubai.

In logistics, Emirates SkyCargo and LODD Autonomous agreed to collaborate on next-generation air cargo solutions using UAE-built unmanned hybrid cargo aircraft. The airline also entered into an MoU with ENOC to explore the supply of sustainable aviation fuel in Dubai.

Where are new capabilities built?

Key collaborations were unveiled to advance Dubai’s role in aerospace manufacturing and maintenance. Emirates and Safran Seats signed an MoU to establish Dubai’s first aircraft seat manufacturing facility, initially producing retrofit seats before expanding into line-fit manufacturing.

Emirates and the CCE Group agreed to co-develop cabin and cargo products within the UAE.

An MoU with Rolls-Royce will allow Emirates to perform Trent 900 engine MRO for its A380 fleet from 2027 onwards at a new purpose-built facility. The partnership extends TotalCare support into the 2040s, with Emirates handling fan case repairs and Rolls-Royce retaining global module repair capability.

What about innovation?

Emirates partnered with OpenAI to introduce ChatGPT Enterprise across the organisation, supported by AI training frameworks and digital innovation projects.

The airline also joined forces with dans and Thales to explore methods to reduce arrival holding patterns at Dubai International Airport, boosting future airspace efficiency.

Emirates Engineering achieved the UAE’s first Design Organisation Approval from the GCAA, enabling local certification of major aircraft modifications and advancing national aerospace expertise.

Throughout the show week, Emirates earned industry recognition, receiving ‘Best Airline in the World’ for the 8th time at the ULTRAs travel awards, alongside Airline of the Year and Best First Class of the Year at the Aviation Business Middle East Awards 2025.
