Flying from Dubai? Emirates urges passengers to check schedule amid delays
Weather impacts road access and travel times to airport
DUBAI – Passengers travelling through Dubai International Airport are being urged to plan ahead this week, as Emirates maintains its global network while issuing advisories amid unstable weather conditions.
Between March 23 and 27, rain, strong winds and reduced visibility are expected to affect journeys to the airport, with authorities warning of slower traffic and congestion around key access routes. Emirates has advised passengers to arrive at least two hours before departure, check flight status in advance and monitor updates closely.

The airline has noted that while flights continue to operate, disruptions are more likely to impact road access and travel times rather than the flights themselves.
Long-haul network
Emirates continues to operate long-haul routes connecting Dubai with major global cities. Services include Buenos Aires (EK247) departing at 08:05 and São Paulo (EK261) at 09:05.
North American operations remain active, with Toronto (EK241) departing at 03:15 and multiple daily services to New York (EK201/203). San Francisco (EK225) departs at 08:00.
Flights to Australia and New Zealand also continue, including Melbourne (EK406), Sydney (EK412) and Auckland (EK448), all operating daily with next-day arrivals.
Europe operations
European routes are operating with multiple daily frequencies. London Heathrow sees several departures throughout the day, while Paris operates three daily services.
Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Madrid remain key connections, alongside daily flights to Vienna, Copenhagen, Dublin and Prague, with flight durations ranging between seven and nine hours.
Asia-Pacific routes
Asia remains one of the busiest regions in the Emirates network. Bangkok is served by up to four daily flights, while Singapore operates twice daily and Kuala Lumpur continues with a daily service.
Flights to Beijing and Shanghai depart in the early hours, while Tokyo and Seoul routes remain active with consistent daily operations.
Regional and Africa
Regional connectivity remains strong, with frequent services to Jeddah and Riyadh. African routes include Nairobi, Johannesburg with multiple daily flights and Cape Town.
These routes continue to play a key role in maintaining connectivity despite operational adjustments.
South Asia routes
South Asia routes remain among the most active. India sees multiple daily services to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai.
Pakistan routes include Karachi with three daily flights, Lahore and Islamabad with twice-daily services, along with Peshawar and Sialkot connections.
Short-haul flight durations across the region typically range between two and three hours.

Emirates has reiterated that its schedule remains flexible, with flights subject to change depending on weather conditions and operational requirements.
Passengers are advised to check flight status before leaving for the airport, update their contact details and avoid travelling without confirmation, as rain and low visibility continue to affect travel conditions across the UAE.
