New digital system delivers live operational visibility for airport teams
DUBAI-based carrier flydubai has selected ZestIoT to digitise and modernise aircraft turnaround operations at Dubai International Airport and across its growing international network.
The airline will deploy ZestIoT’s Turnaround Management Platform, a system designed to bring real-time visibility, predictive analytics and AI-driven collaboration into day-to-day airport operations. The move is aimed at improving how flights are handled on the ground, from arrival through to departure, as the airline continues to scale up its activity.
The new platform is built to give operational teams a single digital view of what is happening across every aircraft, stand and service point. By combining multiple data sources with AI-based predictions, the system can flag potential delays, coordinate teams more effectively and support quicker, better-informed decisions. This approach is intended to improve punctuality and create more predictable operations, which in turn supports a smoother experience for passengers.
Digital platform
flydubai said the deployment will help strengthen operational execution and enhance collaboration between airport teams. Mohamed Hassan, Senior Vice President of Airport Services and Cargo at flydubai, said real-time visibility and optimised performance were essential as the airline continues to expand, adding that digital solutions were key to improving connectivity across the network.
The technology will initially support operations at Dubai International, one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs, before being used more widely across flydubai’s network. ZestIoT’s system is designed to manage the entire turnaround process, tracking activities such as cleaning, catering, fuelling and boarding through a single digital interface.
Network scale
flydubai currently serves more than 135 destinations across 58 countries, connecting Dubai to markets across the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, Europe and the Indian Subcontinent. The airline operates a modern fleet of 97 Boeing 737 aircraft and runs an average of 370 flights every day from Dubai International, giving it one of the largest operational footprints at the airport.
As flight volumes increase, the need for accurate, real-time data becomes more critical to maintaining reliability and on-time performance across such a broad network.
AI operations
ZestIoT said the partnership highlights a shift towards AI-driven exception management and real-time operational control within the aviation sector.
The company’s platform uses multi-source data orchestration and smart AI agents to support workforce coordination and decision-making during day-of-operations.
