'Love in Slow Motion': Nour Al Ghandour, Ali Kakooli lead Netflix’s new Arab love story

DUBAI – Netflix has released the official trailer for Love in Slow Motion, offering audiences a first look at its latest Arabic romantic comedy ahead of its global premiere on July 23, 2026.
The film brings together a star-studded cast led by Nour Al Ghandour and Ali Kakooli. Packed with humour, heartfelt moments and emotional twists, the story explores how love can emerge when it is least expected.
Love in Slow Motion
At the centre of the film are Haya, played by Nour Al Ghandour, and Jawad, portrayed by Ali Kakooli, whose long-standing friendship appears unbreakable. Their comfortable relationship takes an unexpected turn when Haya realises that her feelings for Jawad have grown beyond friendship.
Just as she gathers the courage to confess after years of keeping him firmly in the friend zone, Jawad reveals that he is engaged to Zeina, a successful and outspoken actress played by Noha Nabil. Faced with the possibility of losing him forever, Haya embarks on a determined and often hilarious mission to change the course of events.
As Haya navigates awkward encounters and emotional setbacks, she finds unwavering support from her sister Dalal, played by Shoug AlHadi, and her outspoken aunt, portrayed by Fatima Alshereef. Adding a unique touch to the story is Cuba, Haya's loyal chimp companion, who stays by her side throughout her journey.
Haya also records her experiences through a series of private video blogs, allowing viewers to witness every embarrassing moment, emotional confession and unexpected twist from her perspective.
Produced by Jamal Sannan under Eagle Films and written by Eyad Saleh, Love in Slow Motion marks Eagle Films' third collaboration with Netflix in the Arabic romantic comedy genre.
The film centres on a simple but relatable question: what happens when someone discovers that the love they have been searching for has been right in front of them all along, only realising it when they are on the verge of losing it?
