When will Dubai’s top family attractions reopen?
Global Village, Ain Dubai and Dubai Parks remain shut as precaution amid regional tensions
DUBAI – Dubai’s popular outdoor attractions, including Global Village, have temporarily closed and will remain shut until further notice, organisers have confirmed.
The seasonal multicultural destination announced that the decision follows official guidance as authorities continue to monitor ongoing regional developments. For now, there is no confirmed reopening date, and visitors have been advised to keep checking official channels for updates.
The closure affects one of the emirate’s most visited family destinations during its milestone 30th season, a period that typically draws large crowds, particularly during Ramadan evenings.
The attraction has been closed since February 28 and will not reopen until further notice.
Ramadan Season
The closure comes at a time when Global Village typically experiences a surge in visitors during Ramadan. The destination traditionally introduces special seasonal features, including a majlis-inspired tent open to the public and themed cultural entertainment throughout the holy month.
The attraction had scheduled daily Ramadan entertainment programmes on its main stage, including live game shows and drone displays designed to draw families and tourists after Iftar.
Global Village is widely known for its mix of international pavilions, retail outlets, carnival rides and live stage performances, making it one of Dubai’s most enduring leisure attractions.
With operations suspended mid-season, it remains unclear whether the destination will reopen before the end of Ramadan or in time for the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holiday period, which is usually among the busiest times for the attraction.
Other attractions
Two other well-known leisure destinations have also confirmed similar closures. The giant observation wheel Ain Dubai and the theme park complex Dubai Parks and Resorts have both announced temporary suspensions of operations.
Operators said the closures follow official guidance and are intended to ensure the safety of visitors and staff while authorities continue to assess the situation.
Guests who already hold tickets or reservations for these attractions are encouraged to check official websites before planning visits, as reopening dates have not yet been confirmed.
