Global Village, Ain Dubai and Dubai Parks close amid safety measures
Visitors urged to check official websites before heading out
DUBAI – Dubai’s iconic Ain Dubai observation wheel will not operate on March 2, authorities confirmed, citing precautionary safety measures.
The attraction advised visitors with existing bookings to check the official website for updates before visiting.
Dubai Parks and Resorts has also suspended operations today, with ticket holders asked to monitor official channels for reopening information.
Meanwhile, Global Village, the region’s leading multicultural outdoor destination for dining, entertainment, and shopping, remains closed for a second consecutive day. Officials stated the decision aligns with safety guidance and encouraged visitors to consult the attraction’s website and social media for updates.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has issued guidance for private sector companies to adopt remote working wherever feasible. Staff should minimise time in open areas, with only roles that require physical presence continuing onsite. These measures currently cover March 1 to 3, subject to change depending on evolving circumstances.
DIFC moves online
The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) announced remote operations for employees from March 2 to 4. Services will continue as usual, with clients and businesses encouraged to work remotely where possible.
Regular Ramadan timings remain in place: DIFC Authority operates Monday to Thursday from 9am to 3pm and Friday from 9am to 12pm. DIFC Services runs Monday to Thursday from 9am to 2pm and Friday from 9am to 11am. Urgent matters can be reported via the DIFC Security Hotline at 050 285 5999.

Authorities emphasised that all closures and remote work measures are precautionary. The public is urged to rely solely on verified, official sources rather than unconfirmed social media reports.
