VFS Global opens upgraded Czech Republic and Germany visa centre in Kuwait
New facility expands biometric capacity and improves applicant comfort
DUBAI – VFS Global has inaugurated a newly upgraded Visa Application Centre in Kuwait, offering enhanced services for applicants travelling to the Czech Republic and the Germany.
Opened in association with the embassies of both countries, the modernised facility is designed to improve efficiency, comfort and privacy for residents submitting visa applications. The centre features a refreshed layout and an increased number of biometric enrolment counters to help streamline the submission process.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Juraj Chmiel, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Kuwait, Hans-Christian Freiherr von Reibnitz, Ambassador of Germany to Kuwait, along with senior representatives from VFS Global, including Regional Head for Kuwait Monaz Billimoria and Head of Operations Avdhut Shelar.
Enhanced facilities
The upgraded premises aim to cater to growing outbound travel demand from Kuwait to Europe, particularly to the Czech Republic and Germany. With additional biometric counters, the centre is expected to reduce waiting times while maintaining a secure and privacy-enabled environment. The redesigned space also offers a more comfortable experience for applicants throughout their visit.
Speaking at the launch, Ambassador Juraj Chmiel said the new centre reflected a shared commitment to efficiency, transparency and user-friendly services. He noted that the improved facilities would support smoother mobility while encouraging cultural exchange, business ties and stronger people-to-people connections. The Czech envoy added that the centre would help welcome more visitors to experience the country’s natural landscapes, historical heritage, modern technologies and renowned health spas.
Diplomatic support
Ambassador Hans-Christian Freiherr von Reibnitz highlighted VFS Global’s long-standing role in supporting German visa services, noting that the company has been entrusted with receiving applications for Germany for more than two decades. He said the continuous expansion and improvement of services were clearly reflected in the upgraded Kuwait premises.
As all residents of Kuwait wishing to travel to Germany submit their applications through this centre, he welcomed the improvements, describing the facility as efficient, comfortable and inviting. He added that the centre now offers travellers an encouraging first step towards visiting Germany.
Growing demand
Monaz Billimoria, Regional Head at VFS Global, said the company shared a strong and enduring relationship with both the Czech Republic and Germany. She said the new centre would play an important role in addressing the increasing number of travellers heading to the two European destinations.
According to VFS Global, the upgraded facility is intended to enhance the overall customer experience while ensuring consistent service standards. Applicants can also opt for additional services such as SMS notifications and courier return of passports. The company emphasised that these optional services do not influence visa processing timelines or decisions.
VFS Global has partnered with the Czech Republic for visa processing since 2014 and with Germany since 2005. Currently, the company provides visa services for the Czech Republic across 30 countries through a network of 73 visa application centres. For Germany, it supports visa operations in 31 countries worldwide through 74 centres.
Application process
Applicants must book an appointment in advance to submit visa applications for both countries. Appointments are available via the official VFS Global website at no additional charge. The company reiterated that its role is limited strictly to front-end administrative tasks, including the collection of application forms and supporting documents as per embassy guidelines.
VFS Global does not play any role in visa decision-making, which remains the sole responsibility of the respective embassies and consulates.
The Visa Application Centre in Kuwait is located on Level 25 of Arraya Tower, Alshuhada Street, Sharq, Kuwait City. It operates from Sunday to Thursday, between 9am and 5pm.
