UAE rulers mark Eid Al Adha 2026 with nationwide prayers
Mosques across the emirates witness large gatherings of faithful
DUBAI – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) marked Eid Al Adha with a nationwide display of faith and unity on Wednesday as leaders and rulers across all seven emirates joined thousands of worshippers in mosques for special prayers.
From Abu Dhabi to Fujairah, citizens, residents and officials gathered in large numbers to observe one of Islam’s most significant religious occasions, while sermons delivered across the country focused on values including sincerity, devotion, moderation and social harmony.
Abu Dhabi
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan performed Eid prayers at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque alongside His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

Joining them were several senior Sheikhs and officials including Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and senior ministers and advisers.

The Eid sermon, titled Our Eid is sincerity and sacrifice, was delivered by Dr Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat. Addressing worshippers, he highlighted honesty as a cornerstone of trust and one of the key principles behind prosperous societies.
He said sincerity and honesty had guided the UAE leadership since the country's foundation and had contributed to building a stable and strong nation. He further stressed that loyalty to one's homeland and sincere service strengthen societies and support continued progress.
The sermon also highlighted the importance of protecting national interests, raising children with strong values, fulfilling responsibilities with integrity and contributing positively towards society.
After prayers, Sheikh Mohamed exchanged Eid greetings with worshippers. He and accompanying Sheikhs later recited Al Fatiha in memory of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Dubai
In Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, performed Eid Al Adha prayers at Zabeel Grand Mosque.

Joining him were several Sheikhs, officials, citizens and residents who gathered early in the morning to mark the occasion. The mosque witnessed large congregations as worshippers came together for prayers and Eid celebrations.
Sharjah
His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, led Eid prayers at Sharjah Mosque.
Among those attending were Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, alongside senior officials and department heads.

The Eid sermon was delivered by Sheikh Dr Abdullah Mansour, who focused on the virtues of monotheism and sincerity to Allah. He emphasised Islam’s foundation upon devotion, moderation and adherence to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The sermon also explored the significance of the Day of Sacrifice as among the greatest days in Islam and underlined the value of honouring sacrificial rituals.
Sheikh Dr Mansour also spoke extensively about the family unit, describing righteous spouses and children as among the greatest blessings granted to believers. He stressed the need for strong moral and religious foundations in raising families.
He also highlighted tolerance, forgiveness and maintaining family ties while urging society to reject hatred and division in favour of cohesion and mutual respect.
The sermon concluded with prayers for the UAE’s continued security, stability and prosperity.
Ras Al Khaimah
His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, performed Eid prayers at Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque.

Joining him were His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, alongside Sheikhs, officials and representatives from federal and local departments, as well as members of Arab and Islamic communities residing in the UAE.
Following prayers, Sheikh Saud exchanged Eid greetings with well-wishers.
Fujairah
In Fujairah, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, offered Eid Al Adha prayers at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, joined him along with senior officials and Sheikhs.
Following the prayer ceremony, the Fujairah Ruler received greetings from worshippers and well-wishers gathered at the mosque.
Umm Al Quwain
His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, offered Eid prayers at Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mu'alla Mosque.

He was joined by His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Deputy Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, senior officials and members of the community.
Following the prayer, Eid greetings were exchanged with worshippers and officials.
Ajman
In Ajman, His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, performed Eid Al Adha prayers at Al Zaher Palace Mosque.

Accompanying him were His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, as well as senior officials, department chairmen, citizens and residents.
After prayers concluded, Sheikh Humaid exchanged greetings with worshippers, continuing celebrations that unfolded across mosques throughout the country as communities came together to mark Eid Al Adha with prayer, reflection and shared values.
