GDRFA Dubai chief praises seamless Eid travel operations at Dubai International Airport
Special passport stamps greet travellers arriving during festive season
DUBAI – Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs Dubai (GDRFA Dubai), carried out an extensive inspection tour of Dubai International Airport on the first day of Eid Al Adha, reviewing operations amid one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
The visit covered arrival and departure halls across Terminals 1, 2 and 3, where officials assessed passenger movement, operational readiness and the efficiency of travel procedures during the holiday rush. Accompanying Al Marri were Major General Obaid Meher bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA Dubai, and senior officials from Dubai Police.
Authorities reviewed the preparedness of frontline teams handling large numbers of travellers and highlighted the close coordination between GDRFA Dubai, Dubai Police and strategic airport partners in maintaining smooth and secure operations.
Smooth operations
Officials praised the integration between operational teams at Dubai International Airport, pointing to advanced procedures and real-time coordination systems that helped accelerate arrival and departure processes while maintaining high security standards.
During the tour, Al Marri exchanged Eid greetings with passport officers and frontline employees stationed at airport counters and checkpoints. He commended their efforts during peak travel periods and public holidays, describing skilled national talents as a key driver behind Dubai’s operational and digital success.
“Today’s presence alongside senior officers from Dubai Police reflects our commitment to ensuring that the integrated operational ecosystem continues to function with the highest levels of readiness and flexibility for the comfort of travellers,” Al Marri said.
“The seamless procedures we witness today are the result of strategic government integration and the sincere efforts of our human talents, who take pride in delivering a safe and exceptional travel experience that places the people of Dubai and its visitors first,” he added.
Eid in Dubai
The inspection tour also marked the launch of the “Eid in Dubai” stamp initiative, through which arriving passengers received special Eid-themed passport stamps upon entering the emirate.
According to GDRFA Dubai, the initiative is designed to create a festive atmosphere for visitors arriving during Eid Al Adha while reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global destination recognised for hospitality, cultural connection and efficient travel experiences.
