UAE activates operational plans to handle regional disruptions amid Iran-Israel tensions
Stranded passengers receive accommodation and essential services support
ABU DHABI – The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the United Arab Emirates has confirmed the activation of operational plans to manage the impact of recent regional developments.
The Authority emphasised that the country’s aviation sector continues to handle passenger traffic in a structured and flexible manner, mitigating the effect of successive flight schedule changes while maintaining smooth procedures within airport terminals nationwide.

Airports and national carriers are coordinating closely under approved plans to manage operational traffic. Measures include rerouting certain flights between airports, accelerating rescheduling processes, and enhancing on-ground coordination to prevent potential congestion.
The GCAA stated that all hosting and accommodation costs for affected or stranded passengers are being covered by the State. Over the past hours, approximately 20,200 passengers have been affected by flight rescheduling, receiving temporary accommodation, meals, refreshments, and assistance with rebooking procedures in line with operational plans.
Coordination efforts
National carriers, working alongside relevant authorities, have managed both arriving and departing flights affected by operational circumstances. Passengers have been transported to their destinations within the country, temporary accommodation provided for transit passengers, and all regulatory procedures completed according to approved frameworks.
The Authority confirmed that coordination between airports and airlines continues to monitor flight statuses and reschedule services, supporting the safe and orderly resumption of operations once conditions allow. Passengers are urged to follow official updates via approved channels and contact their respective airlines directly for any developments regarding their flights.
