More than 550 aviators to be recruited through roadshows in 40 cities
DUBAI: To mark World Pilots’ Day, Emirates has announced an ambitious plan to recruit over 1,500 new pilots by 2026, with more than 550 of them set to be hired within this year.
The move comes as the Dubai-based airline accelerates its fleet and network expansion, backed by steady passenger demand and a growing route map.
Emirates currently employs more than 4,600 pilots from around the world. With one of the most modern wide-body fleets and a reputation for high service standards, Emirates is looking to attract experienced aviators through a global roadshow campaign covering over 40 cities this year.
Since 2022, the airline has already welcomed nearly 2,000 new pilots. Upcoming recruitment events will take place in Norway, Finland and Sweden in May, following successful sessions in Italy.
How to apply
Pilots interested in joining Emirates can explore four main pathways:
- Direct Entry Captains: For experienced commanders seeking immediate captain roles.
- Accelerated Command: A fast-track upgrade for First Officers who meet specific flight hour criteria.
- First Officers Type Rated: For pilots already certified on Boeing or Airbus aircraft.
- First Officers Non-Type Rated: For qualified pilots looking to transition into wide-body aircraft.

Those selected will join a diverse and elite team of aviators based in Dubai, operating a growing fleet currently comprising 261 aircraft, including Airbus A380s, Boeing 777s, and the newest A350s.
