Direct Dubai-Salalah flights set to begin as Oman Air adds five July routes
Three-weekly year-round service starts ahead of khareef season
DUBAI – Travellers heading from the UAE to Oman’s lush southern region will soon have a new non-stop option, with Oman Air launching its first direct Dubai-Salalah service tomorrow (Friday).
The new route is part of the airline’s wider July 2026 network expansion, which includes five new destinations and reflects growing demand for travel across the GCC.
Operating throughout the year, the service is also timed to support the popular khareef season, when Salalah attracts thousands of visitors with its cooler climate and green landscapes.
Dubai-Salalah flights
The Dubai-Salalah flight service will operate three times a week year-round, offering greater convenience for UAE residents, Omani travellers and international visitors. Oman Air said the new route is designed to strengthen connectivity with the Dhofar Governorate while supporting tourism, trade and economic activity under Oman Vision 2040.
According to the airline, demand for travel between Dubai and Salalah has continued to grow, prompting additional capacity on one of Oman’s most popular leisure routes. Tickets for the service have been available for booking since February 16, 2026, through Oman Air’s website and mobile app ahead of the July 3 launch.
Oman Air expansion
The Dubai-Salalah service forms part of Oman Air’s largest single-month network expansion. On July 2, the airline begins direct flights to Singapore and Sochi, followed by Tashkent and the new Dubai-Salalah route on July 3. Services to Abu Dhabi will commence on July 9, taking Oman Air’s network to 49 destinations.
The expansion follows the airline’s recent growth, including its membership of the oneworld Alliance and the addition of new international routes.
Oman Air has also continued to increase capacity to Salalah. Available seats to the destination rose by 20% in January 2026 compared with the previous year, while capacity during the 2025 khareef season increased by 15%. The airline recently introduced its first direct Moscow-Salalah charter service, expected to bring more than 7,000 visitors to the governorate, with further schedule enhancements, including expanded Ramadan services, planned later this year.
