DUBAI – Dubai’s gold market continued to attract attention on Tuesday as retail rates in the emirate edged higher across most major categories, reflecting gains in international bullion markets.

The city remains one of the world’s most closely watched gold trading hubs, with prices updated daily in line with global market movements. Jewellery buyers and investors alike are keeping a close eye on developments as geopolitical uncertainty and economic indicators continue to influence precious metal prices.

Dubai gold rates

According to the Dubai Jewellery Group’s suggested retail rates for today, 24K gold was priced at Dh544.25 per gram, while 22K stood at Dh504.00. The rates for 21K and 18K were Dh483.25 and Dh414.25 respectively, while 14K gold remained unchanged at Dh323.00 per gram.

On Monday, 24K gold was trading at Dh544.00 per gram, 22K at Dh503.75, 21K at Dh483.00 and 18K at Dh414.00. The 14K category remained stable at Dh323.00 on both days.

The changes amounted to gains of Dh0.25 per gram for 24K, 22K, 21K and 18K gold, while 14K registered no movement. Although the rise was limited, it reflected a stronger trend in international bullion markets during early Tuesday trading.

Global gold market

Internationally, spot gold rose 0.8 percent to $4,517.73 per ounce, while US gold futures for August delivery gained 0.9 percent to $4,547.80 per ounce. Analysts attributed the advance to easing US Treasury yields, which reduce the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding assets such as gold.

Market participants were also assessing developments in the Middle East. Lebanon announced a partial ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, signalling a degree of de-escalation in a conflict that has fuelled regional uncertainty. At the same time, mixed signals emerged regarding relations between the United States and Iran. Iranian state media reported that Tehran had halted indirect negotiations with Washington, while US President Donald Trump stated that discussions were continuing rapidly.

Investors are also watching upcoming US employment data and comments from Federal Reserve officials for clues on the future direction of interest rates and the strength of the American economy. The performance of the US dollar and Treasury yields remains a key driver for gold prices globally.

Other precious metals

Other precious metals outperformed gold during Tuesday’s session. Spot silver jumped 2.1 percent to $76.41 per ounce, extending recent gains and drawing increased market attention.

Platinum rose 1.8 percent to $1,958.67 per ounce, while palladium advanced 1.5 percent to $1,382.33.
