Dubai gold rates drop again, 24K down Dh4.75 from Friday
Bullion pauses after historic annual rally
DUBAI – Dubai gold prices eased again on Saturday, reflecting a continued softening after the New Year peak.
Rates released by the Dubai Jewellery Group show lower prices across all purities compared with Friday, extending a week-long downward trend after Monday’s elevated levels.
The movement mirrors a broader pause in global precious metals as investors reassess gains made during a strong 2025.
Dubai gold rates
On Saturday, 24K gold is priced at Dh522 per gram, down from Dh526.75 on Friday. Over the week, prices have fluctuated notably. On Thursday, January 1, 24K stood at Dh520.25, before edging up to Dh521.75 on Wednesday, December 31. Tuesday, December 30, saw 24K at Dh525.75, while Monday, December 29, marked the weekly high at Dh540.25 per gram.
For other categories, 22K gold is priced at Dh483.25 on Saturday, compared with Dh487.75 on Friday and Dh500.25 on Monday. The 21K rate stands at Dh463.50, easing from Dh467.75 a day earlier and Dh479.75 at the start of the week. Meanwhile, 18K gold is at Dh397.25, down from Dh401 on Friday, while 14K is priced at Dh309.75, compared with Dh312.75 on Friday.
Global trends
Globally, gold and silver pared earlier gains after profit-taking at the end of a year that delivered historic returns for precious metals. Spot gold rose 0.36% to $4,329.57 an ounce, while spot silver gained 1.6% to $72.39 per ounce. Gold’s rise in 2025 marked its biggest annual increase in 46 years, supported by US Federal Reserve rate cuts, geopolitical tensions, strong central-bank purchases and ETF inflows.
The dollar strengthened following its sharpest yearly decline in eight years. The dollar index rose 0.19% to 98.43, with the euro at $1.172. Against the yen, the dollar advanced to 156.84.
Other markets
US Treasury yields moved higher ahead of key employment data, with the 10-year yield at 4.191%. Oil prices eased, with US crude settling at $57.32 per barrel and Brent at $60.75. In cryptocurrencies, bitcoin rose to $89,789.87, while ethereum climbed to $3,121.09.
