UAE to see cooler days and scattered showers until November 7
Winds may reach up to 40 km/h as sea conditions vary
DUBAI – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is set to experience an unsettled weather pattern this week, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and chances of light to moderate rainfall continuing until November 7, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM).
The forecast signals a seasonal shift from autumn to winter, bringing cooler mornings, breezy afternoons and scattered rain across various regions.
The NCM reported that humidity will prevail in the early mornings over some coastal and inland areas, accompanied by varying wind patterns. Wind speeds are expected to range between 10 and 25 km/h, occasionally reaching 40 km/h, contributing to fluctuating sea conditions. Temperatures are likely to dip slightly on some days, offering residents a refreshing change after recent warm weeks.
UAE weather
Early on Monday, Raknah in Al Ain recorded the lowest temperature in the country at 13.7°C, followed closely by Jabal Al Rahba (13.8°C) and Mebreh Mountain (13.9°C). Other cool readings included Damtha (14.9°C) and Jais Mountain (15.0°C).
In contrast, the country’s coastal and island stations recorded higher figures, with Das Island registering 27.7°C, Qarnēn 27.4°C, and Sir Bu Nair 26.7°C. Across the mainland, Abu Dhabi Airport and Dalma saw 25.7°C, while Madinat Zayed cooled to 21.9°C and Mezaira dropped to 17.4°C. Other notable readings included Sharjah International Airport (19.3°C), Al Ain (19.1°C), and Fujairah (25.0°C).
The NCM noted that such temperature variations are typical of the UAE’s seasonal transition, as cooler desert air mixes with warmer coastal humidity, resulting in early-morning fog and mist in some regions.
On Tuesday, skies will remain partly cloudy to cloudy at times, particularly towards the west, with dusty patches expected in northern and eastern regions. The wind direction will shift from southeasterly to northwesterly, maintaining moderate intensity. Sea conditions will stay slight to moderate across both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
Wednesday will bring a slight rise in temperatures, with clouds building westward and a probability of light to moderate rainfall. Winds will vary between southeasterly and northeasterly, freshening at times up to 35 km/h, while seas remain slight.
By Thursday, the Al Dhafrah region could witness light to moderate rainfall under partly cloudy to cloudy skies. Winds will continue from the southeast to northeast at 10–25 km/h, and sea conditions will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and calm in the Oman Sea.
Friday will close the week with mild temperatures and partly cloudy skies, especially in western areas, accompanied by a slight dip in temperatures and light to moderate winds.
Seasonal shift continues
As the UAE edges closer to winter, the NCM emphasised that fluctuating temperatures, variable winds and scattered rainfall are characteristic of this transition period. These patterns often precede the onset of cooler, more stable weather later in November.
