UAE announces early registration window for Hajj 2026 pilgrimage
Priority given to Emiratis who have not performed Hajj before
DUBAI – The United Arab Emirates has announced the official registration period for Hajj 2026, giving citizens an early opportunity to prepare for the spiritual journey to Makkah.
The General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat (Awqaf) confirmed that applications will open on 24 September 2025 and remain available until 9 October 2025.
The announcement, made on Wednesday, comes shortly after the conclusion of the 2025 Hajj season and highlights efforts to enhance services for Emirati pilgrims. Only citizens and residents with valid Emirates IDs will be eligible to apply, with priority given to those who have not previously performed Hajj.
Applications must be submitted through Awqaf’s official website or smart application. Authorities urged prospective pilgrims to prepare early by ensuring documents such as Emirates IDs, passports, medical fitness certificates and vaccination records are valid and up to date.
Digital applications
Awqaf’s digital platforms have been designed to simplify the process, allowing applicants to register securely, verify eligibility, and receive real-time updates. Full guidelines will be published closer to the opening date. Non-citizens will need to provide proof of residency to qualify.
Hajj 2026
According to Saudi Arabia’s National Centre for Meteorology, Hajj 2026 will fall between March and May, marking the first spring season pilgrimage in decades. This shift follows the natural progression of the Islamic lunar calendar and is expected to reduce risks linked to extreme heat, especially for elderly pilgrims.
Package details
While pricing for Hajj 2026 has not yet been announced, previous packages from the UAE have ranged between Dh25,000 and Dh50,000 depending on accommodation, transport, and services. Awqaf will release approved agents and package details in due course, with applicants advised to register only through official channels to avoid fraud.
