Al Ain resident wins Dh20 million in Big Ticket Abu Dhabi draw
Mubarak Gharib Rashed Salem Al Dhaheri plans charity, new home
ABU DHABI: A life-changing moment unfolded for Mubarak Gharib Rashed Salem Al Dhaheri, a UAE national from Al Ain, as he clinched the Dh20 million grand prize in Big Ticket Abu Dhabi’s Draw Series 275.
The draw took place on Tuesday and was streamed live, where the winning ticket number 337126 was announced.
Al Dhaheri, who has been persistently purchasing tickets for the past two years, bought the lucky one on May 27 at Al Ain Airport.
Big Ticket Dh20million winner
The win is especially notable as it marks a rare moment for a UAE citizen to secure the jackpot in the longstanding raffle.
Richard, one of the hosts, called it a significant occasion, remarking, “Our first UAE [Emirati] jackpot grand winner in a long time.”
Speaking to show hosts Richard and Bouchra, the visibly elated winner confirmed, “Yes, I am from Al Ain. I’ve been buying for the past two years from Al Ain Airport.”
Al Dhaheri also shared that he does not plan to split the winnings. “Inshallah, I can do some charity and buy a house,” he added.
Prize draw
The ticket was randomly selected by last month’s winner, Thajudeen Aliyar Kunju, during the live event. The Big Ticket hosts initially joked during the call, nearly revealing a higher amount before confirming the actual Dh20 million prize.
