Dubai Flag Garden unveiled with 11,000 flags honouring UAE Founding Fathers
Brand Dubai’s National Month celebration pays tribute to Zayed and Rashid
DUBAI – Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, has launched the 12th edition of the Flag Garden at its permanent site in Jumeirah Beach, Umm Suqeim 2.
The annual installation marks one of Dubai’s most anticipated national celebrations, forming part of the wider ‘National Month’ campaign. The event falls under the umbrella of the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, launched under the directives of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
This year’s edition presents a spectacular new design paying tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum – the nation’s Founding Fathers whose leadership established the UAE’s enduring unity and prosperity.

What makes this year unique?
The 2025 Flag Garden showcases an impressive artistic installation featuring 11,000 UAE flags arranged to form vast portraits of Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid. Stretching 60 metres high and 90 metres wide, the design captures the spirit of national pride and unity.
According to Brand Dubai, the Flag Garden serves as a creative space where art, identity, and patriotism converge. Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, described the event as one that “brings together art, creativity, and deep national symbolism,” highlighting its role in celebrating values of loyalty and belonging that continue to define the UAE.
She noted that the 2025 display carries a special message of gratitude to the nation’s leadership, serving as a tribute to the late Founding Fathers “who together laid the foundations of a nation that has become a global model for development and sustainability.”
How is it linked to national month?
The Flag Garden is among the highlights of Dubai’s National Month campaign, which runs from UAE Flag Day on 3 November through Eid Al Etihad on 2 December. The campaign, now in its second year, is organised by Brand Dubai in collaboration with government, semi-government, and private-sector entities.
Under the directives of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the campaign brings together a series of celebratory events across the emirate, each designed to honour the UAE’s journey of unity and progress. The #ZayedAndRashid campaign serves as a central pillar of these celebrations, reinforcing the lasting influence of the nation’s two visionary leaders.
When and where to visit?
The Flag Garden will be open to the public from 3 November 2025 until 10 January 2026, welcoming citizens, residents, and tourists to experience the installation’s visual and patriotic allure. Visitors are encouraged to share photos and videos using the hashtags #ZayedAndRashid and #UAEFlagGarden.

Mahra Alyouha, a member of the organising committee, described the Flag Garden as a “national icon and tourist attraction” that draws thousands each year. The site, overlooking the Arabian Gulf and with the Burj Al Arab as its backdrop, has become a popular location for visitors to capture memorable moments.
The installation aligns with other National Month events across Dubai, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the city. From community gatherings to cultural performances, the celebrations embody the unity and pride of the Emirati people while offering international visitors a glimpse into the nation’s vibrant heritage.
What does Flag Garden symbolise?
The Flag Garden’s evolving design each year reflects the UAE’s forward-looking spirit while honouring its deep-rooted values. This year’s expansive flag portraits symbolise unity, progress, and respect for the legacy of the Founding Fathers.
Shaima Al Suwaidi emphasised that Brand Dubai’s role in leading national celebrations underscores the confidence entrusted in its creative direction. She credited the success of the campaign to collaboration among numerous partners and noted that the initiative continues to serve as a bridge between heritage and innovation.
The National Month campaign also celebrates the UAE’s cultural diversity and achievements, offering residents and tourists alike a chance to experience the country’s traditions in new and inspiring ways.
