DUBAI: Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has officially launched its first Emirates World retail store in Singapore, marking a major milestone in the carrier’s 35-year relationship with the country.

The new flagship space, located at Odeon 333 directly opposite the iconic Raffles Hotel, blends high-end hospitality with cutting-edge technology to offer customers a rich, in-person experience.

The store was inaugurated today by Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, alongside UAE Deputy Ambassador Ahmed AlKetbi and Lim Ching Kiat, Executive Vice President of Air Hub & Cargo Development at Changi Airport Group. Senior Emirates executives, media, and key travel trade partners were also in attendance at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Kazim said, “The opening of the Emirates World Store in Singapore underscores our commitment to this vibrant city and region. It brings our signature ‘Fly Better’ promise to life, enabling travellers to experience our services up close, get expert advice, and explore personalised travel options in a modern, welcoming environment.”

Spanning over 330 square metres, the store introduces a fresh concept in travel retail – one that merges personalised service with immersive elements and sustainability-driven innovation. Designed in Emirates’ signature palette of warm tones and contemporary finishes, the open-plan space features decorative motifs of the Ghaf Tree, the national tree of the UAE, creating a tranquil lounge-style setting.

The Singapore World Store houses four customer service counters staffed by experienced consultants offering tailored travel planning. From flight bookings to travel advice and exclusive fare deals, visitors benefit from face-to-face interaction in a world increasingly driven by digital transactions.

Guests can also try the “selfie mirror,” which captures images against rotating destination backdrops, and explore Emirates’ line of sustainable upcycled items – including travel pouches, bags, and document holders – on display for the first time in Singapore.

First-class on display

A key highlight is the full-size installation of Emirates’ First-Class Private Suite – a permanent fixture exclusive to the Singapore location. Visitors can step inside the suite and experience its plush leather seat, ambient lighting, and fully enclosed privacy doors, mirroring the airline’s award-winning offering in the skies.

This tactile experience is designed to demystify the Emirates First-Class product and inspire travellers to consider premium travel for their next journey. It adds a distinct edge to the retail experience by allowing customers to explore a luxury cabin environment without leaving the ground.

Complementing the services and installations is Emirates’ signature hospitality – customers are welcomed with freshly brewed coffee as they browse the space or wait for their turn with a consultant.

Strengthening Singapore ties

The launch of the Emirates World Store coincides with the airline’s 35th anniversary of operations in Singapore. Since beginning flights in 1990, Emirates has steadily deepened its ties with the city-state. Today, the airline operates four daily flights between Singapore and Dubai, as well as one daily service to Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

In 2024 alone, Emirates carried over 800,000 passengers on the Singapore–Dubai route. London, Paris, and Milan remain top destinations for travellers departing from Singapore, with strong demand from both leisure and corporate markets.
