Caspian Airlines launches new Sharjah routes to five Iranian cities
New services expected to lift tourism, commerce and passenger connectivity
SHARJAH – The Sharjah Airport Authority has approved Iran’s Caspian Airlines to begin scheduled passenger flights connecting Sharjah with five major Iranian cities.
The new routes, launched on 8 December 2025, represent a significant step in strengthening travel, tourism and trade ties between the UAE and Iran.
The carrier will operate Boeing 737-500 aircraft with 120 seats on all services.
Route expansion
Caspian Airlines will run seven weekly flights from Tehran, three from Lamerd, two from Qeshm, and one each from Shiraz and Bandar Abbas. The addition enlarges Sharjah Airport’s growing international network and offers passengers wider access to key Iranian destinations known for commerce, tourism and industry.

Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, welcomed Caspian Airlines as the newest international carrier operating at the airport. He noted that the expansion mirrors Sharjah Airport’s increasing operational momentum and its capability to meet rising demand across both passenger and cargo segments. He added that the partnership aligns with Sharjah’s long-term aviation strategy, contributing to improved connectivity and supporting broader economic development.

Sharjah Airport continues to see strong performance. Passenger numbers reached 5.12 million in Q3 2025, marking a 16.7% rise compared to the same period in 2024. Aircraft movements increased by 10.7%, reaching 30,737 flights, underscoring the airport’s expanding regional significance.

Caspian Airlines CEO Adel Norali described the launch as a milestone in the airline’s growth. Building on over thirty years of operational experience and an international footprint spanning more than 11 destinations, he said the new flights would reinforce economic, tourism and cultural links between the two countries.
