From 3,000 drones to live concerts: What’s on at Global Village Dubai this January

DUBAI – January at Global Village brings together large-scale entertainment, live music, cultural celebrations and daily family-friendly performances, reinforcing the destination’s status as one of Dubai’s most visited seasonal attractions.
With more than 90 cultures represented across pavilions, shows and street performances, the park’s January calendar is packed with events included in the standard entry ticket, priced at Dh25.
This month’s programme ranges from the largest drone show of the season to regional concerts, children’s theatre productions and national celebrations, all taking place against the backdrop of Season 30.
Biggest drone show of Season 30
One of the most anticipated highlights arrives on January 9, when Global Village stages its largest drone show of the season. Beginning at 7:15pm, the display features 3,000 drones synchronised to form illuminated patterns, animations and symbols across the night sky.
The show has been positioned as the biggest aerial spectacle of Season 30, adding to the park’s regular line-up of fireworks, parades and multimedia performances. Large crowds are expected, with viewing areas filling up well before the scheduled start time.
Live concerts and stage performances
Global Village’s Main Stage remains central to January’s entertainment offering, hosting a mix of international acts, regional performers and themed tribute shows.
Red Hot Chilli Pipers, the internationally recognised Celtic rock band, continue their performances until February 1. Known for blending traditional Scottish bagpipes with rock classics, the group delivers high-energy sets that have drawn strong audience numbers throughout the season.
On January 10, Yemeni singer Hussein Moheb takes to the Main Stage at 8pm. The performance is expected to showcase emotive vocals and contemporary Arabic music, adding to the park’s diverse musical programming.
Fans of Gulf-inspired sounds can look forward to Al Khaleejiya Beats on January 24. The concert highlights modern Khaleeji music, combining regional rhythms with contemporary production styles. The event is scheduled for a Saturday evening, traditionally one of the busiest nights at Global Village.
A day later, on January 25, the Girl Power Tribute Show arrives at the Main Stage at 8pm. The performance celebrates iconic female-led anthems, drawing on well-known pop hits designed to appeal to multi-generational audiences.
All concerts and live shows are included with the standard entry ticket and operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
Baby Shark shows for younger visitors
Family entertainment remains a key pillar of Global Village’s January schedule, with Baby Shark shows running daily until the end of the month, excluding Wednesdays.
The performances take place at both the Main Stage and the Kids’ Theatre, offering interactive sing-alongs and appearances by popular characters familiar to younger audiences.
Show timings vary across the week:
- Sunday: 7:30pm and 9:35pm
- Saturday: 7:45pm and 9:05pm
- Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 7:40pm
- Friday: 7:30pm
The shows are designed to accommodate families visiting at different times of the day, particularly during peak evening hours.
The Wonderers’ Kids Fest
Extending beyond January, The Wonderers’ Kids Fest continues at the Kids’ Theatre until February 15. The festival features interactive stage shows, large-scale games and live appearances by children’s characters, expanding the park’s daytime and early evening offerings for families.
The programme forms part of Global Village’s broader strategy to provide age-specific entertainment zones alongside its cultural pavilions and food offerings.
Kuwait National Day celebrations
From January 29 to February 5, Global Village hosts special events to mark Kuwait National Day. The celebrations highlight Kuwaiti culture, traditions and heritage through themed performances and pavilion activities.
National day programming has become a recurring feature at Global Village, reflecting the park’s emphasis on cultural representation and regional participation throughout the season.

Entry to Global Village is priced at Dh25, with access covering all concerts, stage shows, parades and scheduled performances. Visitors can purchase tickets online or at the gate, with advance booking recommended during weekends and major event nights to avoid queues.

Season 30 timeline
Global Village has confirmed that Season 30 will conclude on May 10, 2026, giving visitors several more months to experience the park’s attractions, rotating performances and themed events before the seasonal closure.
The destination is expected to reopen later in the year for Season 31, continuing its annual cycle as one of Dubai’s flagship winter attractions.
