DUBAI – AGMC BMW, the official importer of BMW in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, has celebrated its 50-year partnership with BMW by unveiling the all-new BMW iX3 at an exclusive customer event held at Dubai’s Museum of the Future.

The launch marks the Dubai debut of the first production model built on BMW’s revolutionary Neue Klasse architecture. It also represents a major milestone in AGMC BMW’s five decades of delivering premium mobility to customers across Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

The all-new BMW iX3 signals the beginning of a new era for the German marque. As a fully electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), it introduces a distinctive design language while showcasing the latest advances in electric mobility, digital technology and driving dynamics.

New chapter

The Neue Klasse name carries historic significance for BMW. In 1962, the original Neue Klasse transformed the brand with a new generation of sports saloons that shaped BMW’s identity for the following six decades. Today, the all-new BMW iX3 opens a fresh chapter by bringing the company’s vision of Sheer Driving Pleasure into the electric age.

Built on sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology, the BMW iX3 delivers an estimated range of up to 805 km under the WLTP testing cycle. It also supports peak charging of up to 400 kW, allowing around ten minutes of charging to provide an additional 300 to 370 km of driving range.

The vehicle features a completely new electronic architecture centred on four high-performance "superbrain" computers capable of processing data up to 20 times faster than previous systems. It also introduces the BMW Panoramic iDrive, which projects key driving information across the base of the windscreen, making it visible to every occupant.

Dr Hamid Haqparwar, Managing Director of AGMC, said: "For 50 years, AGMC BMW has proudly represented one of the world's most iconic automotive brands across Dubai and the Northern Emirates and there could be no better way to celebrate this milestone than by introducing the all-new BMW iX3. The Neue Klasse represents the future of BMW, redefining electric mobility and digital innovation. Unveiling this remarkable vehicle at the Museum of the Future was a fitting way to celebrate both our shared heritage and the exciting journey that lies ahead."

Advanced technology

Sustainability forms a core element of the BMW iX3. Around one-third of the vehicle is produced using secondary, or recycled, materials as part of BMW’s circular design strategy covering the vehicle’s entire life cycle.

The model also introduces the new Heart of Joy control unit alongside BMW Symbiotic Drive technology. The high-performance system manages the drivetrain, brakes, steering and energy recuperation while processing information up to ten times faster than conventional control units. This enables the vehicle to make full use of electric mobility by delivering instant power, smooth power transfer, improved agility, greater stability and enhanced efficiency.

Working together with BMW’s in-house developed Dynamic Performance Control software, the Heart of Joy calculates driving dynamics with greater speed and precision. Every input through the accelerator, brake pedal and steering is translated into immediate and accurate responses, providing the balanced driving characteristics associated with BMW vehicles.

Future vision

The integrated management of the drivetrain, braking system and energy recuperation also boosts efficiency. In everyday driving, around 98 percent of braking manoeuvres are handled through energy recuperation without the need to engage the conventional friction brakes. The system also introduces the Soft Stop function, delivering what BMW describes as the smoothest stopping experience ever achieved in one of its vehicles.

The BMW iX3 is the first of nearly 40 new and updated BMW models scheduled to arrive by 2027, with each incorporating Neue Klasse design principles, technology and driving dynamics. For AGMC BMW, the introduction of the iX3 marks not only the beginning of BMW’s next generation of electric vehicles but also another milestone in its long-standing partnership with customers across Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
