Pakistan rejects ‘malicious propaganda’ over UAE deportation claims
Officials say visa access for Pakistani nationals continues without prejudice
DUBAI/ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior has rejected what it described as “speculative reporting” circulating in sections of the media and across social media regarding alleged targeted deportations of Pakistani nationals from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In an official statement, the ministry said it had reviewed the available details and data before concluding that the reports were “malafide” and part of a “vicious propaganda” campaign driven by vested interests. The statement stressed that no country-specific or sect-specific deportations from the UAE, or any other country, were being carried out.
The clarification comes amid widespread online claims suggesting Pakistani nationals were facing discriminatory action in the UAE. Authorities in Islamabad, however, said such narratives were false, fabricated and intended to create unnecessary concern among the public.

According to the ministry, deportations, where they occur, are part of routine administrative and legal procedures implemented by host countries under their immigration laws and regulatory systems. These cases may involve violations of local laws, visa overstays, illegal documentation or other residency-related issues.
The ministry further emphasised that Pakistani nationals who fulfil visa and employment requirements continue to travel to and secure work opportunities in the UAE and other friendly countries “without prejudice”.
Officials described the social media posts and related claims as “malicious” and said the misinformation was being spread with “ulterior motives”. The statement underlined that no evidence supported allegations of any organised or targeted action against Pakistanis in the UAE.
The ministry also noted that matters involving Pakistani nationals abroad are addressed individually through established diplomatic and foreign office channels. Any issue concerning access, immigration status or legal matters involving citizens overseas is handled on a case-to-case basis in coordination with the concerned country.
The UAE remains one of the most significant destinations for Pakistani expatriates, with a large community living and working across various sectors in the country. Pakistani workers continue to travel to the Gulf nation for employment, business and family visits under existing visa and labour regulations.
Authorities urged the public to avoid relying on unverified reports and misleading online content, particularly material circulating on social media platforms without official confirmation. The ministry reiterated that the viral claims regarding targeted deportations were entirely baseless and did not reflect the actual situation.
