Adele Shestovskaya from Finland enjoys unforgettable experiences with her family
Adele Shestovskaya, a 9-year-old Finnish child battling kidney cancer, had long dreamed of visiting Dubai. Thanks to the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, her wish has become a reality with a meticulously planned visit.
Dubai’s authorities, led by Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), ensured every detail was perfect.
Adele and her family were welcomed at Dubai International Airport, where she had the chance to stamp her own passport, setting the tone for an unforgettable journey.
Her itinerary included a visit to a natural reserve, where she interacted with wildlife, a tour of the Museum of the Future, and a mesmerising walk through the glass tunnels of The Lost Chambers Aquarium at Atlantis, The Palm. To ensure her well-being, Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital provided medical support throughout her stay.
Lt-Gen Al Marri emphasised Dubai’s commitment to making dreams come true, saying, “We are honoured to create this experience for Adele and her family, reflecting Dubai’s dedication to supporting children battling illnesses.”
Adele’s father, Vitaly Shestovsky, expressed gratitude for the kindness and hospitality they received. “We have never experienced such generosity before. This trip has had a profound impact on Adele’s well-being.”
As they departed, Adele and her family carried home cherished memories of a city that turned her dream into reality.
