UAE weather: Temperatures ease but Dubai, Abu Dhabi still face highs of 47°C
Eastern areas may see increased cloud cover during Tuesday afternoon
DUBAI – Residents across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can expect fair to partly cloudy conditions on Tuesday, August 11, with temperatures forecast to gradually decrease, particularly along coastal areas.
However, the easing heat will remain intense in several parts of the country, with maximum temperatures still expected to reach 47°C.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said clouds are likely to increase over eastern areas by Tuesday afternoon.
UAE weather forecast
Abu Dhabi is forecast to reach a maximum of 44°C, while Dubai could record temperatures of up to 43°C. Despite the expected decline, the country will continue to experience very hot conditions in inland areas, where daytime temperatures are likely to remain considerably higher than those along the coast.
Cloudy spells
The NCM expects fair weather at times, with partly cloudy skies developing across parts of the country. Cloud amounts are likely to increase over eastern areas during the afternoon, bringing some variation to otherwise hot and settled conditions.
The weather department also forecasts winds ranging from southeasterly to northwesterly. These are expected to remain light to moderate overall but may freshen at times, with speeds of 10 to 25kmph and gusts reaching 40kmph.
The stronger winds could lead to blowing dust in some areas, potentially reducing visibility at times. Motorists, particularly those travelling through exposed inland areas, may encounter dusty conditions as the winds pick up.
Sea conditions
The Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to remain slight on Tuesday, indicating generally calm marine conditions. No significant deterioration in sea conditions has been forecast in the latest NCM outlook.
The forecast follows another day of extreme heat across the UAE. The highest temperature recorded in the country was 48.8°C in Bada Dafas in the Al Dhafrah Region at 12:30pm UAE local time.
At the other end of the scale, Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah recorded the lowest temperature at 25°C at 5:30am. The mountain's significantly cooler early-morning reading stood in sharp contrast to the temperatures recorded later across the country's inland areas.
With temperatures expected to ease gradually on Tuesday, coastal locations are likely to see some of the more noticeable relief, although the overall weather will remain hot to very hot. Inland areas will continue to experience the highest daytime temperatures, with the mercury still capable of climbing to 47°C.
