DUBAI – flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, has entered into a new strategic interline agreement with TAROM, Romania’s flagship carrier, offering passengers seamless access to 15 destinations across TAROM’s network through Bucharest International Airport (OTP).

The development gives flydubai travellers more choice when flying between the UAE, Romania and wider European cities.

Routes include Athens, Amsterdam, Brussels, Cluj-Napoca, Frankfurt, Madrid and Paris.

What does it offer?

The partnership allows customers to enjoy simplified itineraries, single-ticket bookings and through check-in of baggage to their final destination. Commenting on the agreement, Ramesh Anantharaman, Divisional Senior Vice President of Revenue Management and Business Effectiveness at flydubai, said: “We are excited to add TAROM to our growing list of interline partners. This newest agreement will enable flydubai customers to benefit from greater access between Dubai and TAROM’s regional network across Eastern and Central Europe, enhancing trade, tourism and cultural exchange.”

flydubai has operated flights to Bucharest since 2012, with demand increasing steadily over the years. By working with TAROM and other carriers, the airline continues to strengthen Dubai’s role as a global aviation hub while boosting travel, trade and tourism links with Romania and beyond.

How does TAROM view it?

Costin Iordache, General Manager of TAROM, welcomed the partnership, saying: “As Romania’s national carrier, TAROM is delighted to join hands with flydubai. It is a natural step in our strategy to facilitate connectivity between the cities we operate in and the most interesting travel destinations. Together we will offer passengers safe, reliable and convenient travel options, connecting our regions and supporting tourism and business.”

When are flights available?

flydubai currently operates double daily services from Dubai International Airport to Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport. The airline will also add Iași as its second Romanian destination starting 19 September 2025.

Business Class passengers can enjoy lie-flat seats, gourmet menus and extensive entertainment options, while Economy Class passengers benefit from reclining seats with adjustable leather headrests.

The airline has grown its network to more than 135 destinations across 57 countries, opening over 100 underserved routes previously lacking direct links to Dubai. Its fleet includes 93 Boeing 737 aircraft. Interline flights under the new agreement are already available to book on the official website, the flydubai app, as well as through travel agents and online platforms.
