DUBAI: Lucid Group, Inc. has made history, setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest journey by an electric car on a single charge.

The record-breaking trip, covering 1,205 kilometres, was completed by the Lucid Air Grand Touring last weekend. The car travelled between St. Moritz in Switzerland and Munich, Germany, without a single charging stop.

Navigating through a mix of alpine climbs, highways and secondary roads, the Lucid Air outperformed the previous record of 1,045 kilometres set in June 2025, surpassing it by a margin of 160 kilometres. The journey demonstrated not just battery capacity but also efficiency, endurance and cutting-edge automotive engineering.

Powered by a proprietary electric powertrain, the Lucid Air Grand Touring boasts a WLTP range of 960km and energy consumption as low as 13.5 kWh/100km. The sedan delivers a powerful 831 PS, reaching top speeds of 270km/h. Thanks to ultra-fast charging capabilities, it can gain up to 400km of range in just 16 minutes.

With a sleek, aerodynamic design and room for five passengers, the model combines speed, range and luxury. The high-performance EV represents Lucid's ambition to lead the charge in the next generation of electric mobility. As a Silicon Valley-based firm listed on NASDAQ under LCID, Lucid continues to push boundaries in sustainable innovation.

Record-breaking partnership

The latest achievement also marked a second successful collaboration between Lucid and Umit Sabanci, a London-based entrepreneur known for his Guinness World Record feats. In 2024, Sabanci completed a journey through nine countries on a single charge in a Lucid Air Grand Touring, setting the record for most countries crossed in a production EV.

Sabanci described the recent trip as “taking that journey even further.” His partnership with Lucid has helped spotlight the brand’s performance on a global stage, and both now hold multiple Guinness World Records titles related to electric endurance.

The Lucid Air Grand Touring's record was officially confirmed by Guinness World Records and entered into its database, reinforcing the car's status as the industry’s range leader.
