Fujairah Crown Prince opens 4th Al Bader Festival
Festival coincides with Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary celebrations
FUJAIRAH – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, inaugurated the fourth edition of the Al Bader Festival, affirming its role in instilling the values of Prophet Muhammad’s (Peace Be Upon Him) noble biography in future generations.
He stressed the importance of following the holy Prophet’s path and preserving his blessed legacy as a foundation for promoting tolerant Islam.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed and in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture at the Fujairah Creative Centre, the festival coincides with the Prophet’s birth anniversary.
Al Bader Festival
The 2025 edition of the Al Bader Festival was formally opened in the presence of dignitaries including Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority; Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation; Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat; and Mubarak Al Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture.
During his tour, Sheikh Mohammed visited exhibitions staged alongside the festival, including The Glow of Maqamat and Al Burda.
These showcased international artworks reflecting the Prophet’s biography through diverse Islamic artistic expressions.
The Crown Prince highlighted the commitment of Fujairah, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, to advancing cultural initiatives rooted in noble values. He emphasised the emirate’s vision of fostering tolerance, coexistence, and human communication inspired by Islamic teachings and the Prophet’s example.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Hamad Al Buqaishi, Secretary General of the Al Bader Initiative, said this year’s festival offers a wide range of creative activities. These include literature, art, and performances that celebrate the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and showcase Islamic heritage in its many forms. He noted that the event draws artists, intellectuals, and specialists who enrich the programme with diverse contributions.
Opening ceremony
The opening ceremony featured a visual presentation on the festival’s journey since its inception and a theatrical operetta, The Miracles of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Performed by students from Fujairah schools, the production was directed and produced by Ibrahim Al Qahoumi, Hamad Al Danhani, and Saeed Suleiman, with support from the Dibba Society for Culture, Arts, and Theatre.
Also in attendance were Dr Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of the Crown Prince of Fujairah; Asma Al Hammadi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Creatives Development Sector at the Ministry of Culture; and several officials and directors from national institutions.
