Three women shot dead in Ras Al Khaimah over traffic dispute
Suspect arrested, weapon seized, case referred to Public Prosecution
DUBAI: Three women have been shot dead in Ras Al Khaimah following a traffic-related altercation, authorities confirmed on Monday.
The confrontation began when a vehicle attempted to pass through a narrow path in a residential area, escalating into a fatal shooting.
Ras Al Khaimah Police arrested the suspect – an Arab national – shortly after the incident and launched an immediate investigation.
Rapid police response
Police received an emergency report about gunfire and dispatched patrol units to the scene. Officers arrived within five minutes and swiftly arrested the accused. The weapon used in the crime was recovered, and the case has since been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal proceedings.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly drew a firearm during a dispute over vehicle movement and shot the three women. The victims were taken to hospital but later died from their injuries.
Ras Al Khaimah Police have urged the public to practise restraint and avoid escalating daily confrontations. They reaffirmed that the law would be strictly enforced against anyone who jeopardises the safety and security of others.
