UAE Lottery, Zulekha Hospital launch orthopaedic workshop for Berkeley workers
Live session focused on posture, lifting techniques and injury prevention
ABU DHABI – The UAE Lottery, operated by The Game LLC, has partnered with Zulekha Hospital to organise a practical orthopaedic workshop aimed at supporting blue-collar residents employed in physically demanding roles across the United Arab Emirates.
The initiative took place at one of Berkeley Services UAE’s shared accommodation residences under The UAE Lottery’s H.O.P.E. corporate social responsibility platform. The programme focuses on Healthcare, Opportunities, Planet and Enrichment, supporting social and environmental initiatives across the country.
Titled “Stronger Body, Safer Work”, the one-hour live session was designed to help residents better understand posture correction, injury prevention, safe lifting practices, and daily exercises that support long-term physical wellbeing. The workshop specifically targeted workers whose jobs involve repetitive movement, lifting, and physical labour.
Focus on health
The session was led by Dr Saleh Kagzi, Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon at Zulekha Hospital, alongside physiotherapist Ms Ceona Prakash Chopde. Participants were guided through stretching and strengthening exercises during live demonstrations aimed at reducing workplace strain and improving mobility.
Following the workshop, residents were also offered optional onsite medical consultations. The consultations allowed attendees to discuss concerns related to back pain, neck discomfort, shoulder strain, and joint-related issues directly with healthcare professionals from Zulekha Hospital.
Suzan Kazzi, Associate Director of CSR at Momentum, The UAE Lottery, said the initiative reflected the organisation’s commitment to delivering accessible and practical health support to communities across the UAE.

Workplace care
Dr Aniruddha Lahiri, Senior Director Administration at Zulekha Hospital, highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare for employees involved in physically intensive work.
“We were delighted to partner with The UAE Lottery on this important initiative. Prevention, movement, and early care play a vital role in maintaining long-term health, particularly for individuals in physically demanding professions,” he said.
Dennis Rust, Head of Staff Accommodations at Berkeley Services UAE, said the collaboration helped provide workers with valuable health knowledge that could positively impact their daily routines and overall wellbeing.
The UAE Lottery said initiatives delivered through the H.O.P.E. platform are designed to strengthen communities and support residents beyond entertainment offerings. Through collaborations with healthcare and community partners, the programme continues to expand its outreach efforts focused on wellbeing, education, and social support across the UAE.
