DUBAI: A Filipino dental technician in the United Arab Emirates has landed a Dh100,000 prize in the UAE Lottery’s Lucky Day category, joined by two Indian expats in Dubai who each won the same amount.

Richard Remolacio, 35, from the Philippines, matched five ‘Days’ numbers and one ‘Month’ number to secure the third prize – an achievement he reached on only his second attempt.

The long-time UAE resident, who has worked in the country for 14 years, said he did not expect the win. “This is my second time playing the lottery. I didn’t actually expect that I would win,” he said.

Alongside Remolacio, Hardeep Singh, from Punjab, and Sudharshan Kasturi, from Hyderabad, were also celebrating Dh100,000 wins in the Lucky Day category. Singh has lived in Dubai for 10 years, while Kasturi has been a resident for 19 years.

Singh said he plans to renovate his home, save a portion of the winnings, and help others. Kasturi described the experience simply: “It’s a good feeling. We both have won Dh100,000 from the UAE Lottery. We are very happy.”

UAE Lottery: Next draw

The UAE Lottery, which runs under the slogan Dare to Imagine, offers the largest prize pool in the country. While the trio collected their Dh100,000 prizes, the Dh100 million jackpot remains unclaimed. The next draw is scheduled for 23 August, with tickets available at the official website.
