Pakistan business leaders meet Sharjah Sports Club to unlock new opportunities

Officials exchange commemorative shields during talks on stronger institutional ties

SHARJAH – A delegation from the Pakistan Business Council Sharjah (PBCS), led by Senior Vice Chairman Syed Saleem Akhtar, visited Sharjah Sports Club to explore opportunities for cooperation in sports, business networking and investment.

The delegation held talks with His Excellency Ibrahim Mohammed Rashid Al Jarwan, Member of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club and Chairman of Sharjah Sports Club Investment. The meeting brought representatives of the Pakistani business community and the Sharjah sporting institution together to discuss potential areas of mutual interest.

The meeting was arranged by Amir Hassan, Vice Chairman of PBCS, who helped bring the two organisations together to explore avenues for cooperation.

Syed Saleem Akhtar welcomed the opportunity to engage with the leadership of Sharjah Sports Club and highlighted PBCS's interest in building stronger links between the Pakistani business community and leading institutions in the UAE. He said sports could provide a platform for bringing communities together while creating opportunities for networking, partnerships and investment.

He also said PBCS looked forward to working with Sharjah Sports Club on sports activities, community initiatives and potential investment projects, with the meeting seen as a starting point for a longer-term relationship.

Investment links

Ibrahim Mohammed Rashid Al Jarwan welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the initiative to strengthen cooperation between the two organisations. He highlighted the importance of partnerships with the business community and voiced support for initiatives centred on sports, investment, networking and community engagement.

Al Jarwan said Sharjah Sports Club was open to exploring areas of mutual interest with PBCS, including sports activities and investment projects associated with the club.

The discussions covered opportunities for joint sports activities, events, business networking and investment in various Sharjah Sports Club projects. Both sides agreed to work together and support initiatives that could benefit the organisations and the wider community.

Shields exchanged

As a gesture of friendship and mutual respect, Syed Saleem Akhtar presented a commemorative shield to Al Jarwan on behalf of PBCS. Al Jarwan then presented a commemorative shield to Akhtar on behalf of Sharjah Sports Club.

The exchange reflected the two organisations' intention to strengthen their relationship and pursue cooperation across sports, business networking and investment.

Representing Sharjah Sports Club were Al Jarwan, Dr Mohamed Ishaq Al Mazmi, Member of the Board of Sharjah Sports Club, and Ahmed Abdelkhaleq, CEO of Sharjah Sports Club Investment.

The PBCS delegation included Akhtar, Hassan, General Secretary Salman Wisal, Dr Mehmood, Dr Zafar Tahir, Usman Khawar, Ali Akram, Hafiz Mudassar and Zeshan.

The meeting concluded with both delegations expressing their commitment to maintaining close communication and advancing the discussions through concrete initiatives and mutually beneficial projects.

PBCS thanked the leadership of Sharjah Sports Club for its hospitality and expressed its intention to continue developing the relationship, with future cooperation expected to focus on sporting activities, community engagement, business networking and investment opportunities.
