Inside Trump’s $60m UFC White House birthday bash
Military guests and donors secure exclusive access to White House event
DUBAI – US President Donald Trump is set to turn 80 on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
The milestone is being marked not with a private gathering but with a large-scale UFC-themed spectacle in Washington, DC. Reports say a $60 million arena has been constructed on the White House South Lawn, with organisers describing it as part of broader national celebrations
The event is expected to blend sports entertainment with political messaging across Flag Day weekend.
Celebrity snub
Several Hollywood A-listers have reportedly declined VIP invitations to the birthday event, despite the high-profile nature of the celebrations. Names including Adam Sandler, Jared Leto, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jason Statham, Guy Ritchie, Tom Brady and Mario Lopez are said to be among those not attending. Their refusal mirrors a similar pattern seen during Trump’s “Freedom 250” concert series, when multiple performers stepped back over political concerns.
The absence of major entertainment figures has contributed to what organisers are informally describing as a celebrity setback for the spectacle, which had been designed to attract both sports and entertainment attention.
Fight Night
Dana White, a longtime Trump ally and UFC president, is expected to be at the centre of the celebrations, with UFC fighters set to compete in seven bouts staged as part of the headline card. Organisers say the South Lawn setup, nicknamed “The Claw”, is designed to host thousands, with around 4,000 attendees expected inside the venue. More than half of the seats are reserved for members of the US military, reflecting the patriotic framing of the event.
Outside the White House, approximately 125,000 spectators are projected to watch on a large screen installed at the Ellipse. Political allies and major donors are also expected, with reports suggesting those contributing $1 million to the Freedom 250 campaign have been promised exclusive access to the president during the event, according to official briefings and statements from event planners and organisers released so far.
