Dubai launches four new bus routes and revamps 13 services
Network overhaul designed to deliver quicker journeys and improved accessibility
DUBAI – The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will introduce four new public bus routes and revise 13 existing services from July 17 as part of a major network upgrade aimed at improving connectivity across Dubai.
The changes are intended to strengthen links between residential communities, business districts and major transport hubs while making journeys more efficient.
The latest revisions also enhance integration with the Dubai Metro and Metro Link services following regular assessments of passenger demand and travel patterns.
New routes
Among the most significant additions is Route 35, which will connect International City with Dubai Silicon Oasis. The service will operate every 30 minutes during peak hours, offering residents a direct public transport link between the two growing communities.
RTA is also introducing Route 85, providing a direct connection between Al Quoz (Al Khail Gate) and Dubai Internet City Metro Station. Buses on the new route will arrive every 20 minutes during peak periods, improving access between residential neighbourhoods, commercial areas and the Metro network.
Two further services, Routes 37A and 37B, will operate between International City and Dubai Silicon Oasis Lake in opposite directions. Both routes will run every 30 minutes during peak hours, expanding transport options for passengers travelling to Dubai Silicon Oasis and nearby Academic City.
Route changes
Alongside the new services, RTA is revising several existing routes to improve operational efficiency and strengthen links with the Metro network.
Route 27 will now operate via Al Mustaqbal Street instead of Al Sukook Street. Passengers affected by the diversion will be able to use Route 29 as an alternative.
Meanwhile, Routes 36A and 36B will no longer operate between International City and Dubai Silicon Oasis. Travellers heading to Academic City and Dubai Silicon Oasis will instead be served by the newly introduced Routes 37A and 37B.
Route 67 will terminate at Oud Metha Bus Station rather than Al Ghubaiba Bus Station, allowing passengers to continue their journeys using the Dubai Metro Green Line.
Changes have also been made to Route 84, which will now end at InsuranceMarket Bus Stop (South Side) instead of Mall of the Emirates. Commuters travelling between Dubai Marina and Al Quoz will be able to use the new Route 85.
Route 88 will have a shortened alignment, terminating at ONPASSIVE Metro Bus Stop (North Side). Passengers travelling onwards to Dubai Internet City can continue using Route 8.
Metro links
RTA is also expanding several Metro Link services to improve last-mile connectivity for Metro users.
Route F06 will be extended to Nad Shamma, while Route F36 will now serve Al Barsha South 2. Route F29 will be adjusted to serve Umm Al Sheif instead of Umm Suqeim 3, and Route F47 will be extended to staff accommodation in Jebel Ali Industrial Area.
In another change, Route F49 will no longer stop at the Parco Hypermarket area when departing from Danube Metro Station. Passengers travelling to the area can instead use Routes 56, 95A, F47 or F53.
Faster travel
Several operational improvements are also being introduced to reduce travel times on busy corridors.
Routes 96 and X94, travelling towards Al Quoz, will be rerouted via Al Yalayis Street and Jebel Ali instead of Expo Road to provide quicker journeys and improved accessibility.
During the evening peak period, Route C01 will operate on a revised alignment between Flame Intersection 2 and Dnata 2 to improve traffic flow and shorten travel times.
Meanwhile, Route X22, heading towards Al Qusais Industrial Area, will bypass stops within Business Bay and operate directly from Business Bay Metro Bus Stop (South Side 1) to Al Qusais Industrial Area 2 via Sheikh Zayed Road. Passengers travelling within Business Bay can instead use Routes F14 and F41.
RTA said the latest network changes form part of its ongoing programme to review and optimise Dubai's public bus services, improve service quality and deliver more reliable, efficient and sustainable transport options for both residents and visitors while strengthening integration across the emirate's wider public transport network.
