DUBAI – Al Ghurair Development, the premium freehold real estate arm of the historic Al Ghurair Group, has launched its first design-led residential project, The Weave, in Jumeirah Village Circle.

The development marks the company’s debut collaboration with Australian architect Joe Adsett, renowned for award-winning projects worldwide, and his first project in the Middle East. The launch signals the evolution of Al Ghurair’s real estate portfolio, combining six decades of construction and operational experience with innovative architecture and modern living.

Guided by the purpose of “In pursuit of better,” Al Ghurair Development focuses on creating residential ecosystems that blend functionality, quality, and distinctive design.

The Weave

The Weave, its inaugural project, balances contemporary architecture with practical layouts and long-term value. The strong market response, with the first phase fully sold out, demonstrates a growing appetite for homes that combine exceptional design with lifestyle convenience.

Sultan Al Ghurair, CEO of Al Ghurair Development, highlighted the project’s significance: “Al Ghurair Development marks a new phase in our family's history and builds on decades of experience while reflecting how Dubai continues to evolve. Over the years, we have delivered large-scale residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects, contributing significantly to the city’s growth. Our experience spans the development and management of over 20,000 units, as well as nearly 1,000 hotel and serviced units, and these learnings continue to guide how we plan and build today for tomorrow.”

The Weave represents the first development under the company’s premium division. From architectural collaboration to practical living considerations, every decision is guided by long-term value. The project has received highly positive feedback from buyers, confirming strong demand for homes that merge careful planning with enduring quality.

Pipeline growth

The Weave is just the start of Al Ghurair Development’s expanding residential portfolio. Upcoming projects include new developments near Al Barari and The Wilds, with a fourth project slated for launch in 2026. The company is advancing masterplans of significant scale, designed as integrated communities that reflect long-term commitment to reliable, thoughtful, and enduring urban spaces across Dubai.

Since its establishment in 1960, Al Ghurair has contributed to some of the UAE’s landmark projects. The company pioneered the nation’s first shopping mall, mixed-use concepts, private banking, and insurance services, and played a pivotal role in infrastructure projects such as the Dubai Metro. Its architectural contributions include the façade glazing of the Burj Khalifa. Today, this six-decade heritage informs Al Ghurair Development’s focus on functional, well-designed living spaces.

Design inspiration

The Weave combines contemporary architecture with generous living spaces and carefully curated amenities. The building’s façade is inspired by ‘safafa’, the traditional art of palm frond weaving, reimagined in a modern architectural form. Sculptural balconies and angled lines animate the exterior, offering each residence a unique perspective while maintaining visual cohesion across the development.

Joe Adsett, Director and Architect at Joe Adsett Architects, said: “The Weave was inspired by the ancient artistry of Middle Eastern weaving, a craft that speaks of connection, continuity, and culture. Our vision was to translate that tradition into architecture, creating a dialogue between heritage and modernity. Every curve and pattern reflects the movement and rhythm of woven fabric, while interior spaces are shaped by light, texture, and balance.”

He added: “Collaborating with Al Ghurair allowed us to contribute meaningfully to Dubai’s architectural narrative. It represents our first step in the Middle East, realised with a partner whose values align with our pursuit of design excellence.”

Residences and amenities

The Weave offers one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments ranging from 700 to 1,800 square feet. Layouts are designed to maximise space, natural light, and circulation. Living areas flow seamlessly into contemporary kitchens, while bedrooms provide calm, private retreats. Bathrooms combine practicality with understated elegance, and neutral palettes and tactile finishes ensure timeless interiors.

Residents have access to an exclusive rooftop club with wellness, leisure, and social facilities. Offerings include a rooftop pool, jacuzzis, ice bath, fitness and yoga studios, and therapeutic sauna and steam rooms. Lifestyle amenities also include a private cinema, barbecue and dining areas, and a social lounge suitable for entertainment or co-working. Each space has been designed to elevate daily routines into moments of connection and enjoyment.

Location and connectivity

The Weave is strategically located to offer convenience and connectivity. Circle Mall sits at its doorstep, while Dubai Hills Mall and Dubai Autodrome are nearby. The development is also centrally positioned between the city’s two international airports, with easy access to Dubai Media City, Dubai Internet City, and key entertainment districts. Residents benefit from a neighbourhood lifestyle without compromising access to the city’s vibrant business and leisure hubs.

Al Ghurair Development’s dedicated sales centre at Mashreq HQ Tower in Downtown Dubai is now open for clients and partners to explore the vision and offerings of The Weave, with project completion expected in 2028.
