Air Arabia launches daily non-stop Sharjah-Munich flights, opening first direct German route
New route operated using Airbus A320neo aircraft
SHARJAH – Air Arabia, the Middle East and North Africa’s first and largest low-cost carrier operator, has officially launched daily non-stop flights between Sharjah and Munich.
The new service marks the airline’s first German destination to be served directly from Sharjah and further extends its expanding European network.
Operated using the airline’s Airbus A320neo, the route is designed to offer customers enhanced comfort and improved travel efficiency.
Sharjah-Munich flight
The inaugural Sharjah-Munich flight was welcomed on arrival with a special ceremony at Munich Airport. Senior representatives from Air Arabia and Munich Airport attended the event, highlighting the significance of the new route for both aviation partners and for travel between the UAE and Germany.
Commenting on the launch, Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, said the new service to Munich represents a meaningful addition to the airline’s European operations. He noted that the route strengthens Air Arabia’s footprint across Europe while offering customers greater choice, convenience and access to one of the continent’s major urban centres.
Strategic expansion
Al Ali added that Munich is a major cultural and economic hub, making it an important destination for both leisure and business travellers. The direct service from Sharjah is aimed at delivering a reliable and value-added travel experience, while supporting the growing demand for connectivity between the UAE and Europe.
Oliver Dersch, Senior Vice President Aviation at Munich Airport, said the launch of the route expands travel options for passengers and reinforces Munich Airport’s role as a key gateway to and from the GCC markets.
European network
The addition of Munich builds on Air Arabia’s steadily growing European network from the UAE, which already includes destinations such as Vienna, Athens, Milan Bergamo, Krakow and Warsaw Chopin, with services to Warsaw Modlin and Prague scheduled to follow.
