Syrian Air cancels Dubai flight, Sharjah timings altered amid Iran, Israel conflict
Airspace closures impact multiple Middle East flight corridors
DUBAI: Syrian Air has announced operational changes to its regional schedule, confirming the cancellation of its Damascus–Dubai route while maintaining limited services to other cities, including Sharjah, depending on available airspace and operational feasibility.
In a statement issued via its official Telegram channel, the airline confirmed that scheduled flights for Tuesday, June 18, will operate as planned, including routes to Jeddah, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Istanbul.
These include:
- Damascus–Jeddah–Damascus (Flights 381 and 382), departing at 5:00 AM and 8:30 AM
- Damascus–Kuwait–Damascus (Flights 341 and 342), at 5:30 AM and 8:30 AM
- Damascus–Abu Dhabi–Damascus (Flights 503 and 504), at 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM
- Damascus–Sharjah–Damascus (Flights 501 and 502), at 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM
- Damascus–Istanbul–Damascus (Flights 443 and 444), at 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM
Dubai route cancelled
The airline also confirmed that the Damascus–Dubai–Damascus service (Flight 515 outbound, 516 return), scheduled to depart Damascus at 7:20 AM and Dubai at 1:00 PM, has been cancelled due to ongoing airspace restrictions in the region.
Sharjah flights
On Monday, Syrian Air had already suspended its scheduled round-trip flights to Sharjah due to airspace closures during the flight time. The cancelled flights were numbered 501 and 502, initially set for departure at 3:30 PM from Damascus and 8:30 PM from Sharjah.
Regional airspace closures
Several countries have restricted airspace access amid escalating hostilities between Iran and Israel, now in their fourth day. These disruptions continue to affect commercial flight routes across the Middle East.
