Etihad introduces lie-flat First and Business suites across all Abu Dhabi-India services
New aircraft enhances comfort on Mumbai and New Delhi routes
ABU DHABI – Etihad Airways has significantly enhanced its premium offering on its flights connecting Abu Dhabi with Mumbai and New Delhi, marking a notable upgrade across one of its busiest international corridors.
The airline now operates four daily services to each of the two Indian cities, combining wide-body aircraft with its newly introduced Airbus A321LR.
The move strengthens connectivity while elevating the onboard experience for premium travellers across both routes.
Abu Dhabi-India travel
The introduction of the Airbus A321LR twice daily on both Mumbai and New Delhi routes complements Etihad’s existing twice-daily wide-body operations to each destination. This expansion means all four daily flights between Abu Dhabi and each of the two Indian metropolises now feature enhanced premium cabin standards.

Etihad has highlighted that the development underscores its commitment to India, where it currently serves 11 gateways. The increased deployment of next-generation aircraft on high-demand routes is designed to improve consistency in service quality while offering passengers more flexibility in travel times.
Cabin upgrade
Across the upgraded services, all premium cabin guests now benefit from lie-flat Business seats, each offering direct-aisle access for improved privacy and convenience. The airline has ensured that these features are now available across all four daily flights operating between Abu Dhabi and both Mumbai and New Delhi.

The enhanced Business product is complemented by Etihad’s premium hospitality, including fine dining and upgraded amenities onboard. First and Business travellers on these routes also gain access to a seamless luxury experience that extends beyond seating, aligning with the airline’s global premium service standards.
A321LR experience
The Airbus A321LR, already operating on flights to Kolkata, brings a refined cabin layout featuring advanced design elements and high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity across all classes. The aircraft introduces two private First Suites equipped with sliding doors, offering passengers enhanced privacy, space for a companion, and the ability to dine, work, or relax in a fully enclosed environment.
Each First Suite includes a 20-inch 4K screen, wireless charging, Bluetooth connectivity, and fully flat-bed capability with premium textiles. The onboard First experience is complemented by Etihad’s signature culinary service.
In the Business cabin, 14 window-facing lie-flat seats are arranged with direct-aisle access, ensuring greater personal space and comfort. Economy passengers are also catered for with 144 ergonomically designed seats featuring 4K touchscreens and a wide entertainment selection, ranging from Bollywood to Hollywood content.
Ground experience
First Deluxe and Business Deluxe passengers benefit from an enhanced ground experience, including chauffeur-driven door-to-door transfers. First Deluxe travellers additionally receive Etihad Concierge services, providing personalised travel assistance, along with Meet and Assist services at the airport for streamlined departures and arrivals.
This extended premium journey ensures continuity of service from ground to air, aligning with Etihad’s broader focus on high-end travel experiences across its international network.
