The development follows another deadly incident on Monday, when a missile struck a civilian vehicle in the Al Bahia area, killing a Palestinian national. On the same day, a drone strike triggered a fire at the Shah field during the night, though no injuries were reported in that case.
Authorities described the attacks as part of ongoing Iranian strikes targeting the UAE, which have been labelled “blatant and treacherous”. Air defence systems continue to operate at full capacity to intercept incoming threats.
Since February 28, UAE air defences have intercepted 304 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,627 drones. The attacks have resulted in eight deaths, including two soldiers and six civilians of various nationalities, along with 145 injuries.
Defence readiness
The Ministry of Defence stated that the country maintains diverse, integrated and multi-layered air defence systems capable of addressing a wide spectrum of aerial threats with high efficiency.
Officials emphasised that these systems include long-, medium- and short-range capabilities, ensuring comprehensive protection of national airspace. The UAE also maintains a robust strategic stockpile of munitions to sustain interception efforts over extended periods.
While reiterating calls for de-escalation and dialogue, authorities affirmed the country’s full readiness to respond to continued attacks, describing them as violations of sovereignty and international norms.
