DUBAI – Dubai’s gold prices opened Monday with steady movements across key purity categories, reflecting updated figures from the Dubai Jewellery Group.

The rates come as global markets prepare for a dense slate of US economic releases expected to influence the Federal Reserve’s next policy steps.

Investors are watching bullion closely following a rebound in international prices after last week’s selling pressure.

  • 24K: Dh491.50 per gram
  • 22K: Dh455.00 per gram
  • 21K: Dh436.25 per gram
  • 18K: Dh374.00 per gram

Global trends

Spot gold was trading at $4,083.92 per ounce, marking a slight 0.1% rise in early Monday dealings. US gold futures were at $4,085.30 per ounce, edging 0.2% lower. Global sentiment has been shaped by expectations surrounding the upcoming US nonfarm payrolls report, due Thursday, as markets refine their outlook for potential Federal Reserve action.

Traders currently estimate a 46% probability of a quarter-point rate cut next month, a mild decline from 50% the previous week. The dollar index held firm, making bullion comparatively less attractive to holders of other currencies. Holdings in the SPDR Gold Trust fell 0.47%, dropping to 1,044.00 metric tonnes from 1,048.93 tonnes.

Other precious metals

Broader precious metals posted modest gains. Silver rose 0.8% to $50.96 per ounce, while platinum increased 0.7% to $1,552.36. Palladium recorded the strongest movement, climbing 1.7% to $1,408.13 as early-week trading activity strengthened across the complex.
