Saudi Arabia launches one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa with 90-day stay allowance
New rules simplify planning for repeated religious visits
DUBAI – Saudi Arabia has introduced a new multiple-entry Umrah visa that allows pilgrims to perform the religious journey several times within a year under a single visa.
The initiative is designed to provide greater flexibility for visitors while simplifying travel arrangements. The new visa forms part of the Kingdom's broader efforts to improve services for pilgrims through digital platforms and streamlined procedures under Saudi Vision 2030 and the Pilgrim Experience Program.
The visa is valid for 365 days from the date of issue and permits multiple entries into Saudi Arabia. Holders can stay in the Kingdom for a combined maximum of 90 days across all visits during the visa's validity.
Entry rules
For every Umrah trip, pilgrims must purchase an approved Umrah service package through the Nusuk platform before travelling. The package duration must not exceed the remaining validity of the visa.
Visitors are also required to obtain an Umrah permit through the Nusuk application before arriving in Saudi Arabia. These requirements apply to every visit made under the multiple-entry visa.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said the new system is intended to integrate digital and operational services throughout the pilgrim journey while making repeated visits easier to plan.
Hajj restriction
The visa becomes inactive once a pilgrim leaves Saudi Arabia after completing a visit. It can be reactivated for the next journey after all required conditions have been fulfilled.
However, the visa cannot be activated during the Hajj season, from the first day of Dhu Al Qadah until the 13th day of Dhu Al Hijjah.
According to the ministry, the new visa aims to enhance the overall pilgrimage experience by offering greater convenience, improving service efficiency and supporting smoother arrivals for Umrah visitors. The move is expected to benefit pilgrims wishing to undertake multiple Umrah journeys throughout the year while using Saudi Arabia's expanding digital services to manage permits and travel requirements.
