RTA upgrades target relief for peak-hour traffic bottlenecks
DUBAI’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened two strategic exits this week, offering significant relief to residents and commuters.
The new routes link the bustling Kite Beach and the rapidly expanding Town Square community directly to major roadways, drastically cutting travel times and easing congestion.
Town Square upgrade
One of the new exits connects Town Square directly to E611 (Emirates Road), an improvement long awaited by residents. This direct link was announced as part of a broader roadworks initiative in February 2025 aimed at decongesting Al Qudra Road.
During peak hours, exiting the community previously took up to 60 minutes. With the new connection in place, the estimated travel time has now dropped to just 10 minutes. This upgrade not only benefits Town Square but also nearby residential developments like Mira, enhancing overall connectivity to Dubai’s road network.
New route to Kite Beach
The second exit facilitates smoother access to Kite Beach, connecting it to Jumeirah Street through Umm Suqeim 1. Popular among both residents and tourists, the beach area frequently experiences traffic surges, especially on weekends.

To help drivers navigate the change, the RTA shared a walkthrough video on X, explaining how to use the new link. This move is expected to ease congestion in and around the coastal area while streamlining daily commutes.

These upgrades are part of Dubai’s ongoing urban mobility strategy. The RTA continues to focus on reducing bottlenecks and shortening commute times between fast-growing neighbourhoods and high-footfall destinations. With new exits now open, travel across the city is becoming quicker and more efficient for all.
