Dubai Crown Prince joins talks on digital transformation and innovation
ABU DHABI – UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today welcomed American entrepreneur Elon Musk in Abu Dhabi, in a meeting that emphasised the UAE’s commitment to technological advancement.
The discussion centred on the latest developments in artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, exploring ways to improve quality of life and support global progress.
They highlighted the importance of leveraging innovation to drive transformative solutions across various sectors. They discussed how strategic partnerships and knowledge exchange can accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, enabling nations and specialised institutions to respond effectively to future challenges.
The meeting was attended by several senior UAE leaders, including His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister; and Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council. Also present were Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with ministers and senior officials.
Elon Musk meets Sheikh Hamdan
In a separate session, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met Elon Musk at his majlis in Nad Al Sheba. The discussions focused on global technological transformations, innovation, and leveraging emerging technologies to support development and international progress.
The meeting highlighted Dubai’s growing position as a hub for technology and innovation, its forward-looking policies, legislative frameworks, and incentives that attract global talent. Sheikh Hamdan emphasised innovation’s role in improving quality of life and sustainable development, while both sides reviewed Dubai’s advanced digital infrastructure and integrated strategy for artificial intelligence and future technologies.
Attendees included Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, and Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism. Elon Musk acknowledged the UAE’s technological progress and expressed optimism for continued advancement.
