Meet Miss Universe 2025
Mexico’s Fatima Bosch has been crowned Miss Universe 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, marking the end of one of the most dramatic and closely watched editions of the global pageant.
The 25-year-old humanitarian rose above fierce competition and controversy, claiming the crown after a turbulent season marked by viral walkouts, judges’ resignations and heated debates over pageant transparency.
Bosch became a favourite following a livestreamed incident earlier in the pageant when she stood her ground after being publicly reprimanded by a Thai organiser. Her reaction sparked solidarity among contestants and ignited conversations about respect and representation in global competitions.
Despite the tension, the grand finale delivered a glittering showpiece. Thailand’s Praveenar Singh finished as first runner-up, with Venezuela, the Philippines and Côte d’Ivoire completing the Top 5. More than 120 contestants participated in this year’s edition.
The competition, held in Bangkok, marked a significant chapter for Miss Universe under its new leadership.
With her new title, Bosch is expected to embark on a year of international engagements, humanitarian initiatives and social impact programmes – continuing her work in amplifying women’s voices on the world stage.
