ABU DHABI – Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is celebrating Ramadan 2026 by offering guests authentic Emirati experiences across its global network.
From specially curated menus to inflight cultural programmes, the airline is combining tradition with modern hospitality to honour the holy month
Guests can enjoy premium offerings both in the sky and on the ground while exploring Abu Dhabi’s vibrant Ramadan scene.
Culinary journeys
Throughout Ramadan, Etihad invites guests to savour authentic Arabian flavours prepared with fresh, regional ingredients. In Abu Dhabi, Business and First lounge visitors at Zayed International Airport, along with the Etihad Lounge at London Heathrow, can enjoy Ramadan-inspired dishes such as Arabic spiced grilled lobster, date kunafa, and rose-pomegranate mousse cake.
Premium cabin travellers experience dishes including Arabic mixed grill, cardamom and date pudding, pistachio caramel cake with strawberries, saffron-orange cake, or the rose and pomegranate mousse cake. Options for lighter meals, like the Healthy Iftar Salad, are available throughout the network. Economy passengers enjoy classics such as tender Arabic braised lamb or chicken on vermicelli rice, topped with fried onions, cashews, and raisins, accompanied by traditional Emirati desserts.
For flights outside Iftar and Suhoor, guests observing Ramadan receive take-away bags before boarding or after disembarkation.
Ramadan on E-BOX
Etihad’s E-BOX inflight entertainment system features Ramadan programmes and religious content to immerse passengers in traditions observed worldwide. Cooking shows demonstrate how to prepare a diverse selection of dishes, while cultural series explore global Ramadan celebrations across the Muslim community.
Visitors to Abu Dhabi can also explore Ramadan events through the March edition of Etihad’s inflight magazine, Beyond, offering recommendations for the best experiences around the city, including cultural activities, events, and local hotspots.
Etihad has relaunched direct flights from Abu Dhabi to Medina, providing a seamless travel experience for guests performing Umrah during Ramadan. The route operates four times per week, a service in place since November 2025, simplifying access to the holy city for pilgrims.
